Axel Feivel Hutapea

Axel Feivel Hutapea did not begin his journey with a title, but with a simple decision—to act.

Long before founding AgeConnected, Axel was already driven by a deep sense of responsibility toward others. As a junior high school student at Kolese Kanisius, he took initiative to organize donation efforts for communities affected by natural disasters in East Nusa Tenggara (Kompas.id). What started as a small movement quickly grew into a collective effort, bringing together students, teachers, and the wider community to contribute and support those in need.

It was in these early moments that Axel learned something fundamental: meaningful change does not require waiting for the “right time” or the “right position”—it begins with empathy, leadership, and the courage to take the first step.

His educational journey continued at Jakarta Intercultural School (JIS), where he was exposed to a broader global perspective, before pursuing higher education abroad. These experiences allowed him to better understand the growing gap between technological advancement and the people who are often left behind by it.

Among those most affected are seniors—individuals who have contributed greatly to society, yet face increasing challenges in adapting to a rapidly evolving digital world.

Rather than viewing this as a problem, Axel saw it as a responsibility.

This conviction led to the founding of AgeConnected—an initiative built not on ambition alone, but on lived experiences, empathy, and a clear understanding of real-world challenges. Through simple, practical, and human-centered approaches, AgeConnected seeks to bridge the digital gap and restore a sense of connection, confidence, and independence among the elderly.

Today, in addition to leading AgeConnected, Axel also serves as President of PERMIAS, where he works to strengthen collaboration and leadership among Indonesian students globally—continuing the same mission he started years ago: connecting people, creating impact, and ensuring no one is left behind.
